Cognitive stimulation is provided through a range of enjoyable activities that stimulate thinking, memory and social interaction, which can help slow the decline of Dementia in its early stages. In addition to improving cognitive function, individuals with Dementia will benefit from improved quality of life, psychological wellbeing as they are able to communicate and interact better than previously. Activities that provide cognitive stimulation targets both mental and social functioning and rely on reminiscing, retrieving information from long-term memory.
